Red Velvet Cupcakes

Image
I made Red Velvet Cupcakes out of the box this weekend. But I attempted to make them pretty looking. For the frosting, I used 1 stick of 1/3 Reduced Fat Cream Cheese, Cinnamon, vanilla, 1/2 stick of unsalted butter, 1/2 C of powdered sugar and a little lemon. For the topping, I used toasted cinnamon, honey, sugar pecans (that I made myself!), dark chocolate shavings from Trader Joes, and strawberries. They turned out pretty good and I was impressed with the way it tasted and looked. I liked that the frosting was not too sweet or heavy... and I think next time I will just go with the pecan topping instead of chocolate shavings because the pecans were super yummy. Hopefully, I will be able to experiment with more baked goods as I wait for my working visa.

Little Tokyo - Downtown LA Adventure

I've randomnly been getting into yelping. Maybe it is because I've been sitting around for months waiting for my visa to Spain... or because I've come to a certain realization that since I spend so much time on Yelp stalking restaurants and trying to find food and places to become obsessed with... why not add my own opinion to it all? On Wednesday, I took the subway and ventured out to Little Tokyo. There were 4 main stops: 1. Mikawaya - For the ice cream mochis and mochilatos. 2. Mitsuru Cafe  - For the Imagawayakis. 3. Daikokuya - For their Ramen. 4. Fugetsu-Do - For their strawberry-peanut butter filled mochis. Mikawaya - ($1-1.25 ea) Still delicious as always... I like how they taste so fresh and aren't too sweet. So far I have tried pistachio, almond and creme brulee. They are all delicious and such a special treat to have whenever you are in Little Tokyo. Mitsuri Cafe - ($1.25 ea) I was so excited to try the Imagawayakis since they got great review

I am loving this look..

I was recently on Lucky Magazine website and I was checking out the look of the day. And I fell in love with this look: It is definitely a look you can take from day to night!

Spring Cleaning

I have officially moved back to Los Angeles while I wait for my working visa. This also means I do not have as much closet room as I used to and has prompted me to clean out my closet. As a result, I decided to sell a good chunk of my clothes to create more room in the place I am currently living in and have also decided it would also be a great way to earn some money while I am waiting for that visa. Getting letters about the loans I will be having to pay back in approximately 3 months has made my very weary about spending money and has got me thinking about how to make some. So please check out the Moving Away Sale  link on the side below the picture of me. I will try posting pictures of what these clothes look like on an actual person on this main page.

Interior Decorating Goodness.

I was on the materialgirlsblog.com site and I love how this space was decorated. It is simple and even though black and white are the main colors it does not look boring at all.

H&M Sustainable Clothes

I am in love with these two pieces from H&M's sustainable clothes collection. They are both priced at $34.95.

Fall into the Gap.

Image
So this has to have been the craziest quarter ever, but in less than 5 days I will be graduating. So when I do graduate, I've decided that since I will be getting my Master's and you don't get a special title in front of your name... I demand that I be referred to as Master Young. How great would that be? I think I deserve it, especially for all that stress I've been through... of course I am just joking, but I can dream can't I? Anyways, I was recently on the GAP website. I  remember many years ago, everytime I would walk in the store I would love the outfits on the mannequins. Then a few years passed and I'd walk into their stores and I wouldn't like anything. BUT their designs have seemed to have greatly improved. Take a look: Seems like the perfect outfits for Fall!
