What's your hobby?

I just finished an acrylic painting inspired by the artist Nacho Diaz . It took a LOT of time because I wanted to make it different from his and coming up with the new part did not come naturally to me. It required a lot of trial and error... and error means mixing the right colors and covering up the mistake. I always wish I had more time dedicated to painting and drawing and this was definitely a challenge that I was looking for.  But after painting this, I felt like I wanted to continue painting but in a different medium. My friend had talked to my about buying watercolors...and at first it didn't seem so interesting to me until I watched a couple youtube videos on watercoloring. Check out these videos: I purchased a set of KOI Watercolors  and waterbrushes  as well as a new pad for water coloring. I painted the palette on to a piece of paper so I could get an idea of what the colors would look like when it dries. And here is my first watercolor: I reall

I went on a bike ride today because the bike path has finally opened near me and it was such a beautiful day outside!!!  Enjoy a playlist of new songs for the month: Check out my youtube playlist here . I've been busy planning trips for the near future and entertaining friends and family lately. Hopefully, I'll post more soon. By the way, have you seen  Garfunkel and Oates  on Netflix? It has been so entertaining!

DIY Recipe: Broccoli Salad

Lately, I've been into trying out new recipes and I wonder if it has anything to do with Spring. I love how it is still daylight by the time I get home from work and it makes me want to be productive. My goal this spring is to incorporate veggies into my everyday meals. I definitely do not get enough of those things called vegetables .This isn't really a diet in terms of portion control or anything because I know for a FACT that I have no self control; this is evident by the fact that I ate more than half of those Magic in the Middle Cookies  I made. So the least I can do is to introduce myself to something good in my food (and continue to eat a lot of it). So this time I made a Broccoli Salad; it has greens and it has BACON. How can that not be a winning combination for my new goal?

DIY Recipe: Magic in the Middle (Peanut Butter) Cookies

There is this one place in Long Beach called Deli News that I enjoy going to- not for the pizza, or the pasta, but for Magic in the Middle Cookies. They are amazingly delicious and are, in fact, magic. I decided to make them myself and I always seem to choose the greatest day to bake...meaning the very few days a year my apartment feels extremely hot.

DIY Ideas: A Crate for my Bike

So, I finally bought a bike in August (behold its beauty below). I contemplated buying one the whole Summer and so when I finally decided to make the splurge and spend money to buy one, I hardly had time to ride it due to work trips and vacations (I know, life is tough-kidding)...and then Winter happened! And now by the time I come home from work, there's hardly any light out for bike riding. I'm gearing up for the spring/summer time when I can ride my bike more often. I really want to install a bike crate to hold my things while riding. Look how awesome a bike looks with a crate: [Photo by: Matt Haughey  -  license ] [ Photo By: Roman Boed  - license ] Now I just need to find the perfect sized crate! DIY: Wall Art

I moved into a place of my own about a year ago...which at the time,  was really exciting and overwhelming all at once. Suddenly, there are a lot of expenses that you take on by yourself; because for once, you can't split the cost of everything with roommates anymore. I realized it took me awhile to start decorating my place because the initial living expenses were just getting a little too much. Don't get me wrong, I can afford my place... I was just getting a little worried about how much I was spending since it was more than what I was use to. I really wanted to decorate my place without breaking the bank, but buying framed art can get really pricey; so I decided to make my own. I would pin ideas on  Pinterest  for inspiration and thought of ways to create something similar for a lot cheaper. I bought frames from Marshall's for $14.99 and poster board paper, which was 5 for $2.99 from Michael's (I love using their coupons!!!).  So that's about $50 for 3 pi
